ROME, Jan 27 (Reuters) - Parma, fired by their Argentine strike force, routed 10-man Udinese 4-0 in their Italian Cup quarter-final second leg home match on Wednesday to book a ticket to the last four on a 6-3 aggregate.
Parma took the lead in the 15th minute through a curling,
35-metres free kick by Argentine playmaker Juan Veron.
His international team mate Hernan Crespo made it 2-0 three
minutes later, re-directing a mis-hit shot by Antonio Benarrivo past Udinese 'keeper Luigi Turci.
Udinese's best chance came in the 22nd minute but Italy reserve 'keeper Gianluigi Buffon was quick to deflect a powerful long-range blast by Belgian midfielder Johan Walem.
Udinese's fate was virtually sealed just before halftime when Turci, one on one with Parma's other Argentine striker Abel Balbo, was sent off for handling the ball just outside the area.
Crespo hit the post just before the interval but found the net to bring the score to 3-0 15 minutes from time and Balbo, served perfectly by Enrico Chiesa, made it 4-0 from close-range with seconds left. Parma, Italian Cup winners in 1992, will face either Inter Milan or Lazio in the semifinal. They were playing later on Wednesday.
The remaining quarter-final, between Fiorentina and Atalanta, is onThursday.
