附：Simon.X.Yang 教授简介

Simon.X.Yang教授具有多国家、多学科背景，拥有物理学士（北大）、生物物理硕士（中科院）、电气工程硕士（美国）和计算机博士学位（加拿大），现为加拿大Guelph大学终身教授，Guelph大学Advanced Robotics and Intelligent Systems实验室主任，重庆大学特聘教授。
Simon.X.Yang教授的研究领域十分广泛，在机器人、智能系统、神经网络、计算智能、控制系统等领域有很高的学术造诣。他是世界上第一个基于生物神经系统、成功地把各种机器人系统的实时自由碰撞运动计划与控制纳入统一框架的人，因此，他被认为是生物神经网络应用于机器人控制和导航系统领域的先驱。在IEEE/IEE 所属国际著名刊物和重要学术会议发表学术论文160 余篇，被SCI、EI 收录的论文多达100 余篇。主持了10 余项重大研究项目（加拿大、日本），总经费达500 余万加元。
Simon.X.Yang教授积极从事各种学术活动。他是世界生物物理学会会员，IEEE 高级成员，是20 多家国际学术杂志（IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks，IEEE Transactions on Fuzzy Systems，IEEE Transactions on Robotics and Automation, IEEE Transactions on Mechatronics, IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man and Cybernetics, IFAC Journal Engineering Applications of Artificial Intelligence，Journal of Intelligent Systems ， International Journal of Advanced Computational Intelligence，Biosystems Engineering，Robotics and Autonomous Systems 等）的特邀评审人，也是杂志International Journal of Robotics and Automation，Dynamics of Continuous, Discrete and Impulsive Systems 等的（客座）编委。他也是十余次国际学术会议的各种主席（Publication Chair，Local Chair，Cultural Chair，Exhibits Chair，Publicity Chair，Session Chair 等）。他也应邀到许多大学和研究所讲学，也是许多大学或研究机构的客座教授（美国Houston 大学，中科院自动化所，四川大学，山东大学，江苏大学，西南农业大学等）。
Simon.X.Yang教授获得过十余次奖励。例如，他是加拿大Alberta 大学博士奖学金获得者，也是高等学位论文奖学金（Dissertation Fellowship）获得者、Andrew Stewart Memorial Prize 和New Faculty Award 获得者以及加拿大总统杰出教授奖（Presidential Distinguished Professor Award）。此外，他还是多家基金的评审人（如加拿大National Research Council，香港Research Grants Council 等）。
此外，Simon.X.Yang教授在加拿大作为独立研究者或者第一研究者正在进行多项受生物启发的智能机器人的研究，受到许多基金及工业公司的支助，包括加拿大NSERC(National Science and Engineering Research Council)基金(类似我国的国家自然科学基金) ，MMO(Materials and Manufacturing Ontario) 基金以及AAI(Applied AI Systems) 公司等的资助。
