Title: Quantum computing with superconducting flux qubits
Speaker: Mun Dae Kim (Yonsei University)
Abstract: Quantum computing is one of fast-growing research fields. A general overview will be given in this talk. As one of strong candidates in realizing quantum computing, a superconducting flux qubit system will be introduced. In this talk, schemes for two-qubit gate operation will be discussed with coupled flux qubits under a microwave irradiation. For weakly coupled case conditional commensurate mode oscillations can perform the controlled-NOT (CNOT) gate operation for any given coupling strength and qubit frequency. On the other hand, for a phase-coupled qubits (strong coupling), it is shown that the CNOT gate operation can be performed for a sufficiently strong coupling at an optimally biased point with respect to both static and oscillating magnetic field fluctuations. The fidelity for the gate operations will be discussed in order to assure the fault-tolerant quantum computing with our schemes for both cases.
