Actuary, PRC Actuarial Services (Shanghai)

KPMG Actuarial Services, headquartered in Hong Kong, provides actuarial advisory and audit support services to our clients throughout Asia. We team with KPMG accountants and other professionals on a variety of assignments, including M&A support, audit, and other actuarial advisory projects.

Located in Shanghai, this position will provide advisory services, support for audit and related services, mainly to our insurance clients in PRC. It will involve substantial contact with clients and teamwork with audit professionals. Assignments will include reviews of regulatory, IFRS and US GAAP reserves for a wide range of life and general insurance products, M&A due diligence, and advisory work in various areas.

To be considered for this position, the ideal candidate should be qualified as a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, Institute of Actuaries (U.K.), Institute of Actuaries of Australia, or equivalent. The successful candidate should have at least 4 to 5 years working or consulting experience in the life insurance industry with a strong focus on financial reporting. Knowledge of actuarial financial modelling and global financial reporting approaches, including US GAAP, IFRS and Embedded Values is desirable. Candidates attempting final stages of relevant examinations will also be considered.

The successful candidate should be proficient in verbal English and Chinese and be able to produce high quality written communications.
