NEW COURSE NAMES AND TIMES:
Course 1 is now called Exam P and is a 3 hour exam 8:30am – 11:30am
Course 2 is now called Exam FM and is a 2 hour exam 8:30am – 10:30am
Course 3 is now called Exam M and is still a 4 hour exam 8:30am – 12:30pm
Course 4 is now called Exam C and is still a 4 hour exam 8:30am – 12:30pm
NEW CALCULATOR for EXAMS P, FM, M and C and COURSES 5, 6, and 8
1.Candidates may use any of the SOA/CAS approved Texas Instruments battery or solar-powered calculators as follows:
·BA-35
*BA II Plus
*BA II Plus Professional Edition
TI-30X
TI-30Xa
*TI-30X IIS (solar/battery version)
*TI-30X IIB (battery version)
·any previously approved calculator model that bears either the SOA or CAS logos
For the Enrolled Actuaries (EA) examination, candidates may use any model that meets the specifications of the Joint Board for the Enrollment of Actuaries.
2.Candidates may bring one or more calculators to the examination. Candidates are permitted to use more than one calculator (i.e., they may have more than one model on their desktop during the examination). There is not any limit to the number of calculators a candidate may use during the examination, as long as the calculators are the approved SOA models. All calculators must be checked prior to the start of the exam. Candidates who neglect to purchase the allowable calculator or who forget to bring one to the test center will be required to write the examination without the use of a calculator.
