Abstract:
 I will introduce you three important fields in math
1. Lie algebra and Lie groups;
2. Harmonic analysis on homogeneous spaces;
3. Unitary Representations
I will give some classical examples, discuss their relations and some open
problems in these fields.

报告人简介： 
Dr. Hongyu He got his Ph D in mathematics from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and M. S. in mathematics from Ohio State University.  Now he is an associate professor at Louisiana State University. He is a leading young expert on representation theory of classical groups and his research is supported by National Science Foundation. He worked at Cornell University and Georgia State University before he joined Louisiana State University. He was a senior research fellow at the National University of Singapore. His research interests are representation theory of classical groups, geometry and harmonic analysis on homogeneous spaces and Mathematical modeling and computational biology. His lecture will   be a preview of his summer course: Representations of real reductive groups, with Binyong Sun at清华大学数学科学中心 in July, 2011.
