CRRAO ADVANCED INSTITUTE OF MATHEMATICS, STATISTICS AND COMPUTER SCIENCE

                                           

                                              AN ANNOUNCEMENT

                   

I am glad to present to you the following report on the progress made in establishing C R Rao Advanced Institute of Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science (CRRAO AIMSCS) in Hyderabad.  Two years ago a building with 5000 square feet of floor space, named ARYABHATA, was constructed to accommodate some of the activities of the Institute. The construction of the main building of the Institute with 40,000 square feet of floor space, named  RAMANUJAN, was completed at a cost of Rs 15 crores. 

The activities of the Institute is organized under two broad headings, Mathematical Sciences with emphasis on mathematics, statistics, econometrics and computer science and Biological and Environmental Sciences with emphasis on bioinformatics and environmetrics. The two activities were inaugurated by the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and the Cabinet Minister for Statistics.

The Institute is looking for qualified people with a good research record in any of the mathematical or biological sciences for permanent employment or short term or visiting appointments during sabbatical leave. Those interested are requested to send me their bio data and nature of research they would like to do and specialized courses they would like to give to research scholars. We are also looking for a Director of the Institute. The salary scales etc will be on the same level as that of scientists in universities and research institutes in India . My email is:crr1@psu.edu, current postal address (up to end of October 2011) is: 29, Old Orchard Street, Williamsville, NY-14221. Tel: 716 639 0902.
