Dr Chris Farmer Study groups demonstrate how all industrial problems have a mathematical interest - there is always something you as mathematicians can contribute to the world of industry. The most important thing in tackling these problems is to identify the key ideas and then look at the simplest mathematical model first! Dr Cameron Hall By getting involved in study groups, I have learned about how broad the subject of applied mathematics is, both in terms of techniques and in terms of applications. For someone who has a wide range of interests, there is no better field of study than applied mathematics. Best regards, Cameron |
